Blue Bioeconomy Pact is a large-scale national innovation initiative focused on accelerating sustainable solutions through the use of marine bio-resources. Backed by a €139 million investment under Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan, the project brings together industry and research to develop new products, processes, and services with real environmental, economic, and social impact.
With a consortium of 80 national partners, including companies, startups, research centers, universities, and innovation hubs, the Pact promotes collaboration across sectors to strengthen value chains, boost exports, and drive a more responsible and future-ready blue economy.
