To support its activities, Sense Test has a wide range of qualified assessors, enabling segmentation into groups with specific needs, such as children, the elderly, and people with celiac disease. For this last group, Sense Test is one of the few companies in the world with an independent panel of individuals who are unable to ingest gluten.

The analytical data collected allows brands to optimize their products, either to increase attractiveness or to evaluate perceived quality.

Sense Test, a Portuguese sensory analysis company, is a national pioneer in the development of an emoji-based questionnaire capable of characterizing consumers’ emotional responses to food products.

Emojis are a universal form of expression, able to overcome cultural and generational barriers and to avoid information loss or translation errors.

Adding the emotional factor to product evaluation allows for better discrimination between products and their brands by assessing the consumer’s affective experience with the product — sometimes unconscious — which can influence and even change the market.
